About the Yamaha SKRM100 SUBKICK Low Frequency Capture Microphone
In combination with the resonance of the drum shell, the speaker produces an incredible sub-frequency sound, with plenty of punch and controlled thickness, and without the phasing problems often associated with low end reproduction.
Yamaha SKRM100 SUBKICK Low Frequency Capture Microphone Reviews
Feature: Don't need any features on this, so therefore it gets a 9. A 10db pad could have been included, but if your preamp or desk doesn't have one you should still be able to manage
Quality: Built like a top of the line Yamaha drum...still, don't be rough with it because it's GEAR; the reason we all exist...however, it's good enough for the road, but I would use a D6 on the road to keep it simple
Value: Don't waste money on other kick drum "solutions" (except a D6)...this is THE ONE
Desirability: YUM
Sound: Used in conjunction with a mic on the beater and GOOD LORD your kick sounds thunderous...must be heard to be appreciated...you'll never track drums again without it
