Feature:
For the money- great parts. The top is specially nice and resonant. Real Grover tuners on mine.
Quality:
Here's the thing-- this guitar sounds great and plays very well, but it has numerous finish flaws and uneven fret work. If you want a great sounding guitar, buy this one and fix the non-cosmetic flaws. If you want a thing of beauty to hang from your wall, buy a $2500 guitar.
Value:
Fantastic value! Great sounding guitar.
Desirability:
I like playing it. It calls to me. I find myself picking it up all the time. It feels great in my hands and sounds wonderful (particularly with alternate tunings such as DADGAD)
Sound:
Fabulous sound for the money. I can't believe a $200 guitar sounds this good. I put a Tusq saddle on it and it improved to a guitar that sounds as good as $1000 guitars.
Overall:
I have numerous guitars and have been playing since 1977. My wife will let me buy a dream guitar if I get tenure this year, so I have been looking and playing many instruments (go to Elderly-- it is guitar shop heaven). I stumbled across this guitar for $189 and had to have it. It has me questioning whether I will ask my wife for a Santa Cruz guitar when I get tenure.
