About the Tascam 414MKII 4-Track Recorder
An 8 input mixer feeds 4 independent tracks. There are 4 mic/line inputs and 2 XLR mic inputs, plus a dedicated HiZ guitar input. A 2-band EQ on each channel lets you dial in the tone you like, and 2 effect sends lets the 414mkII communicate with whatever outboard gear you might have in your studio or personal rack. DBX noise reduction helps to keep your recording clean.

Feature: The bass and treble EQ is all I need. I adjust EQ settings for guitar on my amp. I'd like to see a built-in reverb on this unit.
Quality: I've used mine for three years and haven't had any problem.
Value: It's worth the price.
Sound: Sound is excellent. Has warmth and a live feel. Sounds great with and Alesis SR-16 drum machine.
Overall: If the unit starts wearing, I'll buy another one. I've tried digital recorders and they don't have the live feel that this cassette recorder has. I like things simple and not complicated when it comes to recording and this unit is a pleasure to work with.
