Sound:
The SM58 is a great mic. The BETA 58 is just a little more responsive and brighter in both male and female vocal applications. I have three Beta 58s and they all sound great. I do know that when mixing sound, keep the brands (quality) the same for all vocals and/or amp mixing (guitar amps). Our lead vocalist has a Sampson wireless unit that sounds terrible compared with the Beta 58s.
