About the Samson CH70 Closed-Back Studio Headphones
The CH70 features a closed-back design and is designed for those who prefer a lightweight studio headphone. You simply can't go wrong at this price.
Samson CH70 Closed-Back Studio Headphones Reviews
Feature: Pretty comfortable for extended listening. The smaller cups don't make you feel as if you're wearing a helmet, which happens to me with some of the fuller-cupped models. Not uncomfortably tight around the ears and head. Overall good fit.
Quality: They seem sturdy, and materials appear to be of good quality. I've only owned them for one day, so can't comment on longevity.
Value: Considering the low price, they're not a bad deal, they just don't match the terms "studio reference" and "accurate monitoring," as advertised.
Desirability: Good looking cans, but for home studio monitoring/mixing, they just won't cut it. For general listening with inexpensive phones, I still would prefer my Koss KSC-50s.
Sound: Good low bass reproduction, but rather hollow, muddy and indistinct throughout the remainder of the audio spectrum. Had to significantly adjust eq to get high end emphasis. Not recommended for judging depth and clarity of unmixed recording tracks.
Support: N/A -- Haven't had to deal with Samson customer service.
Overall: I plan to return these and upgrade to the Sony MDR-7506 (which I probably should have purchased in the first place, but I liked the smaller earcup design of these.)
