About the Roland SI24 Studio Interface Control Surface

As with any digital recording system, sound quality is a primary concern. That’s why Roland gave the SI-24 Studio Interface the best 24-bit/96kHz converters. You can use up to 8 analog inputs simultaneously, choosing from either 1/4 in. phone jacks or professional XLR connectors. Six analog outputs are also provided, plus S/PDIF digital I/O. Once audio is routed into the SI-24, it is transferred digitally in and out of the computer via R-BUS. And since Logic supports 24-bit/96kHz recording, the sound quality is never compromised. You can even dither back down to 16 bits when you’re ready to burn a CD.

Roland SI24 Studio Interface Control Surface Reviews

Feature:
so far everything worked right out of the box

Quality:
no dings faders feel solid more firm than devices costing twice as much. ( if you dont agree then I must have one of the REAL good ones)

Value:
yes

Sound:
from what I am hearing I like it ... I will put it through the "fire" when I record the next live session at one of the clubs I work at but for my own personal tinkering I have no complaints

Support:
never had to call them ... cant rate

Overall:
This unit actually "replaces" an aging 880ex that I currently own ( got tired of flying tracks a pair at a time digitally into my main computer ... I have various outboard gear that "works" well this is the only one that is as responsive as my roland 880ex if not more so...and being that it can be used as a "control surface" I am not locked in by any means to the number of tracks the manufacture allows me to use if need be another audio subsystem can be used in conjunction ( I have done this before with great results ) face it a 8 track recorder with the ability to mix 24 tracks from a desk no bigger than a notebook .... it has my vote
