About the Roland HPD15 HandSonic Percussion Controller

The HPD15 has a 15-segment, touch-sensitive pad that reacts to position, velocity, muting, and pitch. The sound engine has 300 percussion and drum sounds from around the world. An onboard effects unit gives reverb and other multi-effects. Use muting and pressure techniques for control, just like real drums.

Quality:
First of all the unit has an awkward shape making it extremely difficult to find a carrying case for it. Then you guys should have used dials instead of knobs on the upper top left hand side. I’m always worried about the knobs during transport. Also I believe that the unit should have a skirt going around it. I know that this would give the unit a fuller look rather than looking like a toy. I feel maybe the unit would appeal to more potential customers, if they could get pass the look of the unit. An then experience the qualityand possibilities of this great idea.

Sound:
Right now i am using colored tape on the pads, because sometimesthe rubber feels sticky at times. With the tape on the pads i feelmy hands are able to slide easier.
