About the Protection Racket Deluxe Djembe Carry Bag

The Protection Racket Deluxe Djembe Carry Bag will hold up to even the most demanding tours. The pod style opening lets you unzip all the way around the lid at the top for easy entry and exit of drum. Covenant carry handles and padded straps make taking your djembe to any gig a breeze.

Protection Racket Deluxe Djembe Carry Bag Reviews

I've been browsing around at lots of different djembe bags trying to find one for a Remo 16" drum. I got this bag, and it fits great and is made of good quality material. However, there are ways that it could be better, especially compared to some other bags out there:(1) The shoulder strap is not that comfortable. It is just a regular strap and does not have any padding. Also, the shoulder strap attaches with plastic clips instead of metal hooks (or even plastic hooks). That makes it more difficult to replace the strap with a nicer one that has padding.(2) There are no backpack straps. This is a feature that's missing compared to the older model of the Protection Racket Deluxe Djembe Bag.(3) There is no pocket. This is another feature that's missing compared to the older bag.(4) The bag only opens at the top and does not have a zipper down the side. This is a big feature that's missing from the older bag. Without the side zipper, it's more difficult to put the drum in and out of the bag, especially for large 16" drums. I found that if I try to stand up the bag and put the drum down inside it, the bag sags over and requires extra effort to put on right. A better way to put the bag on is by holding the side handle and putting it over the drum sideways, but this is still a bit awkward. The overall quality and craftsmanship of the bag is really great, and I'm glad that it was the right size for my drum. However, cutting out several features from the older model of the Protection Racket Deluxe Djembe Bag was a letdown, and after seeing a couple of better options out there, I'm going to get a different bag.
