Ibanez SR505 5-String Electric Bass Reviews
Feature: Love the finish and feel of this bass.
Quality: All materials are top rate. The natural stained finish, body and neck, are beautiful and very comfortable. I like the light weight and slim neck. A very good bass for anyone wanting a 5 string without taking out a 2nd morgage. The sounds that are possible and the ease of the playing are the best things about this bass. If you like a big wide neck this is NOT the bass for you. I went from a 4 string jazz bass to this 5 string and found the change over easy.
Value: The best value in a 5 string I could find !
Desirability: I don't think it's very sexy, but then I didn't want to sleep with it. I like it well enough to take it to every gig and take it home with me each night.
Sound: The bartolinni pick ups and electronics give this bass a wide range of tonal possibilities. I have packed up the 64 jazz bass and am using this bass all the time.
Support: My dealer called me after 2 weeks to find out how I liked it. I did like it. I haven't needed Ibanez yet so I don't know about their support.
Overall: I'll most likley play this one as my main instrument untill it gives me trouble. My last bass went from 1964 to 2004. I hope to live long enough to see if this one can go as long.
