About the Fender Acoustasonic 30 DSP Acoustic Guitar Amplifier

This new amp, an upgraded version of Fender's popular Acoustasonic 30 features digital effects including Reverb, Delay, Chorus, Vibratone, and more, all optimized especially for acoustic performers.

Feature:
The amp has a nice built in effects knob with Effects Level control. Some of the effects are a little sappy as they don't 'fit' with the accoustic but that is a matter of style. Like the vibratone. There is no 'rate' control, but thats ok. One of the nicer features is that it is very lightweight.

Quality:
The wedge shape makes it nice for my wife to access the controls while she is in a seated position. When we tried it out in our house the volume was adequate. When we practiced at the Dallas International Street Church, an 800 square foot approx. the amp really exhibited the lack of power. We turned it up all the way to 10 and it became a monitor for my wife, at best. I then took a guitar cord line out to line in on the power board. I do wish it had more power though. Like maybe 60 to 100 watts, but then we are well into another price range.

Sound:
The sound is warm and full. The amp is great in small rooms as it is 32 watts but there is always the line-out for additional power or to a mixing board. Nice effects. We just bought it and have only rehearsed with it once. I also have a mandolin but have not plugged it in to the amp yet. I also play sax so I am curious how it will sound with that. Probably OK.
