About the Fender Frontman II 15G Guitar Amplifier

Fender's Frontman Amp¬ Series just got a facelift, yet all the tone, reliability, and value of the line remain consistent. Their Blackface cosmetic treatment (skirted knobs, silver grille cloth) makes these amps look as good as they sound! Each amp includes a headphone jack and an auxiliary input allowing the user to play along with a CD, tape player, or drum machine. This 15-watt amp has an 8 in. Fender Special Design speaker, 2 selectable channels (Normal and Drive), 3-band EQ, and an external speaker jack.

Fender Frontman II 15G Guitar Amplifier Reviews

Feature:
Absolutely nothing special. Has volume, gain, bass, treble, and middle, nothing else. Not even reverb.

Quality:
This thing is built like a tank, which is surprising because the other aspects are average. I would put my life on this amp, but I would never, never, NEVER gig with this because of the bad tonal quality, and because it's 15 watts.

Value:
If you were at this price range, I would recommend the Frontman II 15R for about $40 more bucks. The reverb really increases the tone.

Desirability:
Not part of my rig, it's just a backup for while I'm practicing with the band. Yep, that's right, a backup for PRACTICE. In other words, I use it once every 2 months. Still, it has some sort of appeal that makes me use it. Please don't ask why.

Sound:
Good sound for a 15 watt amp, but, in general, the tone s@@ks.

Support:
Never dealt with them.

Overall:
When I started out, I was quite happy with this amp, till I realized how s@@ky the tone was, and how sensitive it was to touch. I swear, I had the gain up at 7, and the volume at 2, and I brushed the strings ever so slightly and it sounded like I was trying to break my strings. It was friggin LOUD. Oh well, there is an upside to having a 15 watt that loud.
