About the Behringer UB2442FX Pro 24 Input Mixer with FX

This is the big cajuna of the whole UB Series. You get all the features you'd expect in an ultra high-quality compact mixer: 16 balanced high-headroom line inputs with dedicated gain controls on stereo channels 13-16, 10 new state-of-the-art, studio-grade IMP "Invisible" Mic Preamps, and an effective, extremely musical 3-band EQ with semi-parametric mid band plus switchable low-cut filter on all mono channels. There is also an integrated 24-bit digital stereo FX processor with 99 great-sounding Virtualizer presets.

Behringer UB2442FX Pro 24 Input Mixer with FX Reviews

Feature:
Same as Mackie 1604 board

Quality:
I have no complaints with the UB2442 as far as quality, the silver is kind of cool for look.

Value:
Maybe be a Mackie copy, but oh well - money well spent.

Desirability:
Own one, use it daily.

Sound:
I am taken back a little by people who just hate the thought of Behringer gear. I have the UB2442 and also owned the MX2442A, years of quiet, great sounding recordings with no problems. I have recorded on the Mackie 1604 and the mixer are almost identical in sound. I don't hate Mackie for charging what they charge, but I definitely can't hate Behringer for maintaining standard and charging less. Do not believe people ranting about behringer is cheap, go test it for yourself, I think you will be highly pleased.

Support:
Haven't had a need to use Behringer support.

Overall:
I think the Behringer is cheap rant comes from hearing people compare their Mackie $900 mixer to a $300 clone. I probably would be pissed a little too, but I would run to thrash Behringer's name, hey, they make great products, I can't hate them for that. It's a value scale, what do you value - if the thought of forking over more money offers a sense of quality, no one can judge you for that. Behringer has more people in mind by reducing their prices but maintaining quality. $600 difference is a extra sound module, or $600 toward getting your own CD pressed up. It's all about what we deem important.
